“ Big mama is an affordable beach club in the center of the malecon/boardwalk in Mahuhual. We got excellent service from Jaime. The food was delicious and fresh, and the price was very affordable. We spent two of our days on this beach club. They have a sectioned off and area in the ocean so to keep the Sargasso away so the beach was pretty clean. There were absolutely no rough waves in this area. I was able to take my floating hammock and chill hours and hours in the ocean by the speech club. Our total each day was around 30 usd. ”
“ The food was pretty good but a little pricey. The Big Mama team bends over backwards to make sure you are happy... We enjoyed our lunch, the chimichangas are delicious and crunchy. The burrito is massive! The tacos are fantastic... the tortillas are some of the best we have had. Work your way past the other restaurants along the beach and give Big Mama's a look before you commit to anything. ”
“ Right on the beach, beautiful water, and marked off area for safety. Gracious hosts, servers, and masseuses. ”
“ We came up on Jimmy! He is awesome! Welcomed my family with open arms! The food was amazing! Can’t wait to go back! Aug.7, 2024 ”
“ I LOVED this beach. They let you pick your table, the beach was beautiful, and the food was amazing!! I think the prices were fair and was one of the best parts of the trip. ”
“ This place is awesome. The staff is very helpful. The food is fresh and it's right on the beach. It's expensive so be clear on the price before they put your order in. The only drawback is the amount of people that come around haggling. Very annoying! ”
“ Thoroughly enjoyed my time at big Mama's! Jose and Philipe took great care of me, and made me feel at home. Their margaritas pack a punch, and their grilled shrimp tacos were the best tacos I had all trip, by far! ”
“ We were pointed in Big Mama's direction by someone in the port and we were not disappointed! We were greeted at our taxi by Fernando and he made sure we were taken care of all day. Excellent food and amazing, but strong drinks! The beach and the water were both very clean. They offered snorkeling but I opted for a massage on the beach instead, which didn't disappoint either. Only downfall were the constant vendors but it comes with the territory, and the more you drink the less they bother you! Will definitely come back if we ever make it back to Costa Maya! ”
